Christ the King is pleased to conduct weddings using the beautiful liturgy for the celebration and Blessing of Marriage found int he Episcopal Book fo Common Prayer. Weddings are usually for members of Christ the King or for those who intend to become members. The Vicar may make exceptions to this rule.
Dates: Weddings are ususally held on Saturdays, between10:00 am and 4:00 pm.Dates should be set at least 90 days in advance.A License will need to be obtained from Harris County at least 30days before the marriage.
The Ceremony: The marriage ceremony is a worship service.Marriage is a sacramentof the church and takes place in the contect of worship. Music, dress, decorations, readings and photographs should all be appropriate for a traditional worship service. Holy Communion is usually a part of the service but it is optional.
Pre-Marital counseling: The Episcopal Church requires pre-marital counseling. The priest will generally schedule at least three meetings with the couple for this purpose.
Fees: Christ the King has a single comprehensive wedding fee that incorporates a clergy honorarium, music by the organists, and support services by the Altar Guild. Please visit the church or call for details.
Fellowship Hall: is available for small receptions only.
